Waylon Jennings and Buddy Holly, 1959

via livelovelennon:
Waylon Jennings was actually supposed to be on that ill-fated plane but gave up his seat to the flu-riddled Big Bopper. When Buddy heard that Waylon had swapped seats he said “Well, I hope your ol’ bus freezes up.” Waylon responded with “Well, I hope your ol’ plane crashes.” It haunted him for the rest of his life.
