I saw Bruce Springsteen live in Milan last night. It was my 6th Bruce gig. This is the email I sent my husband when I got back:

“my love,
Last night’s show was 3 hours and 40 min long: 2nd longest ever Bruce gig! It was AMAZING. He played The Promise, and 60000 people were crying like babies. (I was) Then we got two encores, and grown men were dancing, kissing, hugging, it was pure joy. The back ache is also epic, but my god. There’s a reason why we believe in this guy like he’s some sort of Messiah-he sings that “faith will be rewarded” and boy do we need to hear that these days. I’m glad I have such faith in this stuff, it never ever lets me down. I saw Mattia at the end, so sweet. A pity you weren’t there, but in some way you were, like everything and everyone I carry in my heart always - “we carry the fire/we are alive”. Have a good day. I love you.”
