Opening Theme to The West Wing

Note the open-endedness of this quite simply poignant and perfect theme. Starts with a roll of the snare; enter trumpet, violins, french horn, cymbals, tuba, timpani; the way the xylophone answers the flutes.  The closest answer to this composition in recent memory: Rob Lane’s opening theme to the HBO miniseries John Adams, which, I guess, is appropriate.
